The Horn at Crossroads: The peace and stability of the horn of Africa is in the brinks

    Full recognition of the sovereignty of the Republic of Somaliland is the actual road map for a peaceful, stable and developed Somali region, particularly, and the Horn of Africa in general.
     
    The chaos and nonstability of large areas of the somali region now is in it’s 35th year.
    It is time to undertake the right decision.
     
    Unlike any other Somali region, the Republic of Somaliland is in a critical location and, on the throat of Ethiopia. Non stability of Somaliland will surely affect the peace in Ethiopia.
     
    I Hope prime minister Abiy Ahmed, like his predecessors, will understand the Republic of Somaliland history and status.
     
    If Ethiopia and the neighbouring countries continue their negligence and denial of the legitimacy and actual status of the Republic of Somaliland, or try to impose solutions contradicting, the will and sovereignty of the Somalilanders, the problem of the Somali region will sure escalate and could spill to Ethiopia, Kenya and other neighbours as well.
     
    Today Ethiopia can either take a right and bold decision, that stabilizes the Somali region, or ignore the Somaliland status and sovereignty, which will sure adversely affect the region.
     
    The bottom line.
     
    The truth is:
    Recognition of the Republic of Somaliland is the key for a stable prosperous somali region and the horn.
