HELSINKI (SLpost) — The Somaliland community in Finland, led by Chairman Hassan Omar Hurre and supported by community leaders and members, has presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Chairman of the Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) and his delegation during their official working visit to Finland.
The delegation, headed by NEC Chairman Muse Hassan Yusuf and accompanied by senior electoral officials, was warmly welcomed by members of the Somaliland diaspora. As part of the reception, the community honored the delegation with the award in recognition of their service and commitment to strengthening Somaliland’s democratic institutions.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Hassan Omar Hurre commended the NEC leadership for its dedication and the significant responsibilities it undertakes in managing the nation’s electoral processes. He praised the commission’s efforts in safeguarding democratic governance and ensuring credible elections.
In response, members of the National Electoral Commission expressed their sincere gratitude to the Somaliland community in Finland for the warm reception and generous hospitality. They noted that the recognition reflects the strong relationship and long-standing cooperation between the commission and the Somaliland diaspora abroad.
