Hargeisa (SLpost)- Arabsiyo News has announced the successful reinstatement of its official YouTube channel following a month-long review and appeal process, marking the return of one of Somaliland’s online news platforms to full operation.
The channel, which had been suspended on 19 June 2026, was restored on 23 July 2026 after YouTube conducted an additional review of the case. According to the platform’s official notification, YouTube concluded that the channel was not in violation of its Terms of Service, resulting in the suspension being lifted and the account being fully reactivated.
In a statement issued by the management, Arabsiyo News expressed gratitude to Allah (SWT) and thanked its viewers, subscribers, supporters, and the wider Somali community—particularly the people of the Republic of Somaliland—for their patience, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the review process.
“Praise be to Allah (Alhamdulillah). We are delighted to announce to all our viewers, supporters, and the Somali community—especially the people of the Republic of Somaliland—that, following a lengthy review and appeal process, the Arabsiyo News YouTube channel has been successfully reinstated and is now officially back online and fully operational,” the statement reads adding, “On 19 June 2026, the Arabsiyo News YouTube channel was suspended. Following over a month of dedicated efforts, including the submission of supporting information and engagement throughout YouTube’s review process, the channel was officially reinstated on 23 July 2026. In its notification, YouTube confirmed that, after conducting another review, it found that the channel was not in violation of its Terms of Service and restored full access”.
“The media organisation also acknowledged the dedication of its editorial team, media colleagues, and numerous supporters who helped ensure that its concerns reached the appropriate channels during the appeal. “First and foremost, all praise and thanks are due to Allah (SWT). We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by us, shared their voices, contacted us, and encouraged us with unwavering support and confidence throughout this challenging period. Your solidarity gave us the strength and determination to persevere.”

A special tribute was paid to Eng. The restoration brings an end to more than one month of uncertainty for the channel and allows Arabsiyo News to resume publishing content to its subscribers on YouTube.
