The Somaliland Government says that the national army has successfully thwarted what it says ‘terrorist attack’ on the military bases around Las Anod, the Capital of the Sool region.
“On Monday Early morning, the Somaliland army bases and the HQ of the Somaliland Ministers in Las Anod town came under heavy gunfire by armed terrorists mobilized by anarchist traditional leaders in the town,” Says a statement by Somaliland’s interior ministry.
“The Somaliland government has been warning against those armed terrorist groups which have now been smuggled into the town by the traditional leaders.”
“The Somaliland army have successfully thwarted the terrorist attack and strengthened their positions and military bases.”
“The Somaliland army is always prepared to fight against the terrorists and works towards full prevention of any armed violence”.
